Initially owned by United Towing of Hull "Salvageman" was Britains largest seagoing Tug for a number of years. She was the longest serving vessel in the Falklands campaign with two years continuous service, and was honoured by the presentation of the Ministry of Defence Falklands plaque,during a visit to the Thames in 1984.
